Modifications and Enhancements:

The modifications/enhancements for each service release are described next. This information is also available in the ReadMe file that is installed with the software. The most recent service release (build) contains all previous modifications.

Build 3.1.1

  • Addresses changes made by Microsoft in Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. Resolves the loss of function issue caused by installing SP1 on machines running Windows 7.
  • Resolved an issue with the Save Plot and MIL217 Non Operational window with large fonts.

Build 3.0.6

  • Added an option to sort components and blocks in reports.
  • Resolved an issue where the report window would not render properly with large fonts.

Build 3.0.5

  • Updated Pi Factor, Tree, and Tab views to separate the fields used in the current derating standard from those not used.
  • Resolved an issue where new projects could not be imported into BlockSim.
  • Added proxy server options for PartLibraries.org to the User Setup.

Build 3.0.4

  • Added an option to customize X-Axis titles in the Mission Phase plots.
  • Added derating fields to import and report templates.
  • Added the ability to copy plot graphics.
  • Added a new PartLibraries.org search window to the System Hierarchy menu.
  • Added options to update a single part or whole system from PartLibraries.org to the Tools menu.
  • Added an option to search for part numbers in PartLibraries.org when importing a bill of materials.
  • Resolved an issue with custom derating standards modeled after existing derating standards.
  • Updated the way part number matching behaves in the Import Wizard. Any field specified in the import template will take precedence over the value mapped in the part number lookup.

  • Added an Additional Requirements tab to the Component Derating window for non-temperature-related derating requirements.
  • Added sorting functionality to the System Hierarchy.
  • Added connection rates to the System Hierarchy for MIL217 components contained in blocks.
  • Added field "revision" to the general properties for components.
  • Added option to export allocation to Microsoft Excel or text.
  • Resolved an issue with the calculation of components after using Global Edit.
  • Added Save as Default functionality.
  • Resolved an issue where searching a library for a Bellcore/Telcordia component by category would return no results.
  • Added the ability to delete components from local libraries.
  • Added functionality to change a component's category.
  • Updated the Allocation utility to use a hierarchical tree.
  • Updated the Import Wizard to match on part numbers even if the category of the part doesn't match the category specified in the category column of the spreadsheet.

Build 3.0.2

  • Added support for Microsoft Excel versions 2000 and XP.
  • Added three new columns to the System Hierarchy which are available through the User Setup: Status Flag, Non Operational MTBF, and Non Operational Contribution.
  • Added Part Number search functionality to the Import BoM.
  • Added category customization to the Import BoM. This allows the mapping of a new string to a specific Standard's category.
  • Added Calculation Information to the tools menu.
  • Added Global Edit to the edit menu.
  • Resolved an issue with 'vs. Temperature' plots.
  • Resolved an issue with importing certain dropdown fields in MIL-217-HDBK from Lambda Predict 2.
  • Resolved an issue where saved plots were not correctly refreshing when Refresh was selected.
  • Added the ability to search libraries by category type.
  • Resolved a problem with updating the temperature of blocks in MIL-217-HDBK that contained other special blocks when Update Children was set to "Always."
